The ULPower team has designed its own light weight inverted oil system, allowing the ULPower engines to fly inverted.
The fuel injection system (instead of carburettor) avoids the engine to stop or to loose fuel when flying inverted. When considering the fuel system, the engine can fly inverted for hours and hours. Because of the electronic RPM limiter, there’s no danger of over-running.
By developing the inverted oil system, ULPower copes with potential greasing issues. The principle of the system is as follows:
Pete Wells of Zulu Glasstek (UK) is the owner of 3 UL260iSa engines. He’s accumulated a lot of experience with the engine and has proven the efficiency of the system.
